Green Ridge Hat, a Reversible fabric.
50 gm ball mohair/wool mix boucle yarn
50 gm wool, FINGERING weight
5.5 mm circular needles
Cast on 80 stitches. I used the crochet chain method, double stranded FINGERING yarn, 80 chains.
PATTERNING: knit flat.
Knit every row, alternating the different yarns.
Row 1: Knit 1 row with fingering yarn in the bumps on the backside of the crochet chain.
Row 2 : Start, the mohair boucle at the opposite end of where you FINISHED Row 1.
CONTINUE to Knit every row, alternating the 2 yarns ( 1 row per yarn).
Some Row ends will have both yarns, some rows you will need to push the stitches to the opposite end of the needles to start knitting the row
because there will be a strand at each end of the needle. Continue to ALTERNATE the yarns every row.
You will now see ridges forming, front and back. This is a reversible fabric.
Continue until you run out of yarn or as knit as deep as you wish. Close up top by knitting a couple decreasing rows and/or gather. Seam the side edges.
The photo doesn’t adequately show off the niceness of this hat.
