The crochet trim is a simple edging using a different type of yarn with some sheen to contrast the cotton main body. Some projects need a little “umph”. This was one of them. 🙂
Method: After blocking the main piece, the trim is crocheted onto the edge.
Slip stitch x 8, then make a 3 chain picot.
After the 3 chains, put the hook back into the same stitch on the edge and continue with 8 slip stitches and repeat picot etc.
A quick steam block on the finished edges makes for a very professional finish.
Hopefully, the picture is clear enough to see the details. As with all fibre works, testing is essential to obtain a good finish. i.e. hook size, spacing between the picots etc.
