Shawl in a ball……..rectangular shawl

Most items that I have seen using this yarn, seemed too heavy to my eye. I experimented by using a Chunky knitting machine, its patterning capability and a very loose stitch gauge. This stich can be duplicated on a manual machine.

As seen, it doesn’t look at all like the one in a brochure. Gauge matters. The yarn itself is a cotton/mohair mix with a strand of lurex glitter. The mohair keeps the space open between the stitches.

For those knitters who wish to duplicate, it was 30-0-30 needles, Tension dial 7, 330 rows. I knit until I ran out of yarn.

Finished size: 18″ x 80″
