Whats on the needles…….lace

I must divulge, I’m not a skilled lace knitter. I admire the beautiful lace shawls on Ravelry. I would love to know how to make one or maybe I will just buy one.

In the mean time, I’m making attempts to find my way around handknit lace. Knitting lace on a knitting machine has a whole different set of rules and protocols. Those skills, I already have, the handknit, I do not.

This project is called “198 yd of Heaven.” It is a freebie offered on Ravelry. Thousands have knit it. The pictures are gorgeous. The project is not yet complete and I must admit, that I have used colourful language periodically.

The yarn is Kroy wool sock yarn, 1 ball, on 3.75 mm needles.
Hopefully, I will have a completed blocked shawl……shawlette in the next week.

The scarf/shawl would be a more useable size with more yardage or a looser stitch, or more repeats (more yardage).
