On a recent Cruise with Nicky Epstein, the instructor, she gave us homework to knit before the trip. The project was to knit 4 squares at least 10 to 11 inches square. Any yarn, any pattern.
It turned out that these pieces would be constructed into a “shawlette”.
Alicia, my model was most co-operative, the wind was blowing, but she didn’t move an inch.
I didn’t have time to finish in class and completed it at home.
The garment was knit on the Knitting machine, a Studio 860 mid-gauge. The flowers were a variation of Nickys’ but converted to Machine Knitters use. The yarn is an acrylic/wool mix………..very little wool.
This type of item is published a couple of Nicky Epstein books. Fun to knit and complete. Definitely dramatic, when worn over a solid colour garment. It stays on the shoulders quite comfortably without continual adjustments.
